I build systems that turn friction into flow.

I’m Richard Dunne—an independent technologist working across automation, agentic AI and cloud operations. I build useful machinery for real human problems, then share what I learn.

About

I work where software, operations and human behaviour overlap.

After a decade in cloud operations, I’ve learned that the best systems don’t merely run—they remove uncertainty, expose leverage and help people do work they couldn’t do before.

My natural habitat is the awkward gap between “this is how we do it” and “surely there’s a better way.” I turn recurring pain into repeatable systems, from small domestic automations to agent-assisted workflows and immersive training.

What I do

Useful technology, end to end.

01

Automation

Turning repetitive, fragile work into quiet systems that keep moving without heroics.

  • Workflow design
  • Service integration
  • Operational tooling
02

Agentic systems

Designing human–AI working environments where context, tools and judgement compound.

  • Agent architecture
  • Context engineering
  • Human-in-the-loop design
03

Learning experiences

Making complex systems tangible through simulation, storytelling and hands-on teaching.

  • Interactive simulation
  • Technical facilitation
  • Knowledge systems

Agent-assisted engineering

A long-running experiment in pairing human judgement with persistent context, composable tools and executable workflows.

Interactive operational simulations

Branching, story-driven training experiences that let people practise difficult decisions before the difficult day arrives.

Working principles

01Useful over impressive. The best technology disappears into a better day.

02Systems over heroics. Repeated effort is usually an unclaimed design problem.

03Build in the open. Knowledge becomes more valuable when someone else can use it.

Building something strange, useful—or both?

I’m always interested in thoughtful systems, sharp problems and people who care about making things work better.
